A large number or a majority of people. Used hyperbolically. I'm so nervous, everyone and their mother is coming to our show tonight. I just wanted to have a small dinner party, and now you've invited everyone and their mother! What are we going to feed all these people? Everyone and their mother has that brand of smartphone. I'd rather have something a bit more unique.
