Idioms

everybody and their mother

everybody and their mother

Used hyperbolically to express a large number or a majority of people. I'm so jealous, everybody and their mother is going on a vacation this summer except for me. I just wanted to have a small dinner party, and now you've invited everybody and their mother! What are we going to feed all these people? Everybody and their mother has that brand of smartphone. I'd rather have something a bit more unique.
