goober

slang
1. Someone who is silly or stupid. That guy's a total goober—I can't ask him to prom! Jimmy's such a goober—of course he's the class clown. Don't trust that goober with such an important task.
2. A pimple. Do you have any zit cream? I've got a huge goober right in the middle of my forehead. A: "Ugh, I can't believe I suddenly have a goober on my nose right before prom." B: "Well, don't pop it, that'll only make it worse!" Now that my son's hit puberty, the poor kid's face has broken out in goobers.
3. A tumor. Is this her latest scan? Aw man, that goober hasn't gotten any smaller. Of course she's scared—that goober on her lung might be cancerous! A: "How do you know that goober is benign?" B: "Because I got an ultrasound on it already."
4. Peanut, particularly in the Southern US. Did you really grow up on a goober farm in Georgia? Why are so many kids today allergic to goobers? A goober isn't a true nut, you know. It's really a legume.
