slang Of the first, second, and third bases in baseball, being all occupied with a runner. A play on the more standard term "loaded," which itself is a slang term for "drunk." It's the bottom of the ninth and the bases are drunk. A homerun now would mean victory for the Cardinals. And with that, the bases are drunk for Carter's at bat. If he hits a grand slam here, it'll tie the game. A: "Any chance we get the bases drunk in this inning?" B: "I'm thinking no since we've only had one hit the whole game."
