To remain unchanged from a time in the past, especially in an antiquated or obsolete way. ("Time warp" is sometimes hyphenated.) This town is so entrenched in its backwards ideals and moral values, like it's trapped in a time warp or something! There's nothing digital in the house—no computers, no smartphones, just a typewriter and a single rotary telephone. Talk about being trapped in a time-warp! Yikes, this school is trapped in a time warp. Did you see the ancient computers in each classroom?
