To be in a place, condition, or situation that might result in one's harm or peril. We need to evacuate right away—too many bystanders are still in harm's way. Geez, the kids aren't in harm's way or anything—stop being so overprotective. Hey, if you go any closer to the burning building, you'll be in harm's way!
