the holy grail of (something)

A reference to the chalice from which Jesus Christ drank during the Last Supper, and which became the object of chivalric quests by medieval knights who sought its powers of restoration.
1. An object, goal, or achievement that is highly prized or sought after within a certain field or group. A pill that helps people lose weight without exercise or dieting has always been the holy grail of the dietary supplement industry.
2. Something that is idealized above others of its kind. This $4,000 behemoth is currently the holy grail of gaming PCs, capable of outputting 8K graphics, 240 frames per second, and advanced ray tracing techniques. Whole grains are the holy grail of foods for endurance athletes. There is simply nothing better with which to fuel your body before a big competition.
