The knight was sent on a quest to find the Holy Grail so that the Queen's mysterious illness might finally be reversed. The maiden's only chance at survival rests on your ability to locate the Holy Grail and bring it back so that it may touch her lips. No, Indiana Jones wasn't looking for the Holy Grail, he was looking for the Ark of the Covenant—something completely different.
2. An object, goal, or achievement that is highly prized or sought after within a certain field or group. A pill that helps people lose weight without exercise or dieting has always been a holy grail for dietary supplement manufacturers. An alternative to chemotherapy for this aggressive type of cancer is a holy grail for scientists in the field. For someone busty like me, a bra that's actually comfortable is the holy grail. I can't believe no company has gotten it right yet.
