1. noun A great amount of profit. Used primarily in the phrase "make a killing." We can make a killing on these toys if we're able to market them in time for the holidays.
2. adjective Exhausting or tiring, especially to an intolerable or insupportable degree. I know you're excited for the hike, but you won't last long if you keep up such a killing pace. She's had a killing amount of work on her plate lately. I hope she doesn't get burnt out.
3. adjective, dated Extremely funny; hilarious. The comedian told a killing joke that had everyone in the audience rolling in the aisles.
