slang One who is apt to drink alcohol often and excessively. "Hooch" is a slang name for liquor, especially that which has been made or sold illegally. Geez, if we go to the bar a third time this week, we're gonna look like a couple of hooch hounds! I used to be a real hooch hound and spent all of my time in bars, but that was before I went to rehab. Yeah, I drink sometimes, but I'm no hooch hound. I just have a glass of wine every so often.
