slang A drunkard or alcoholic. "Hooch" is a slang name for liquor, especially that which has been made or sold illegally. He used to be a successful used car salesman. Now he's just a washed-up old hoocher. A couple of hoochers were passing a bottle around in the park next to the liquor store. That guy's a real hoocher—I wish he would get some help.
