A person, thing, or task that is tedious or boring. I don't know who invited this guy to the party. He is a such a drag! I know cleaning out the garage is a drag, but it has to be done. The work event was a total drag, but at least I got to suffer through it with some of my friends from the office.

We're going to walk down to the main drag and do some shopping for a while. The main drag where I grew up had one traffic light, one gas station, and one diner. With a great location on the main drag, I suspect this store will attract a lot of foot traffic.
3. noun An instance of inhaling smoke from a cigarette or something else being smoked. Every time you take a drag, you're inhaling dozens of different toxic chemicals. The detective took a drag on his last cigarette and then crushed the butt beneath his heel. The first and only time I took a drag on a cigarette, I immediately started hacking and coughing.
4. noun The clothing or ensemble worn by one dressing as a member of a different gender, especially in an exaggerated way as part of a performance (e.g. that of a drag queen). I was a little nervous the first time I performed in drag, but I got a great response from the crowd. He loves the spotlight, so good luck getting him off the stage when he's performing in drag. Everyone was in drag, so I didn't recognize any of them.
5. noun, dated slang The person accompanying one on a date, typically a girl or woman. I heard you're Johnny's drag for the prom. You must have hit it off with your drag—I've barely seen you two all night. My heart was pounding as I waited for Mary to answer the phone. What if she didn't want to be my drag for the homecoming dance?
6. noun, dated slang A dance. I heard you're Johnny's date to the drag tonight. Of course we're not going to the drag—school events are for dorks and losers. Wanna stay after school and help us decorate the gym for the drag?
7. verb To inhale smoke from a cigarette or something else being smoked. Every time you drag on a cigarette, you're inhaling dozens of different toxic chemicals. You reek of smoke! There's no way Mom's gonna buy that you didn't actually drag on a cigarette tonight. I'll be right in, just let me finish dragging on this cigarette.
8. verb, slang To mock, ridicule, or mistreat. He's getting dragged pretty hard on Twitter today for what he said during that interview. I know Mary messed up, but don't drag her too hard for it, OK? It was just an accident. When you grow up with three brothers, you get dragged for literally everything, from your looks to your personality.
