Facebook official

Of a new romantic relationship, made public on Facebook by updating the relationship status in one's profile, and thereby revealed to one's entire network of friends and followers. Whoa, I'm definitely not ready to be Facebook official when we've only been dating for a few weeks! Well, look at that—Katie and my ex-boyfriend are Facebook official now. Ugh. After dating for a few months, and agreeing that we were dating exclusively, Eddie and I decided to make it Facebook official.

FB

1. An abbreviation for "Facebook." Oh, those two are dating now—she posted about it on FB. I liked his picture on fb, so I don't know why he thinks I'm mad at him. Did you hear that Jenna's dog died? I saw it on FB this morning.
2. An abbreviation for "follow back" that is typically posted as a comment on social media, encouraging other people to "follow" them on the site or app. When someone writes "FB" on one of my posts, it makes me never want to visit their page. LOVE this dress! FB I'm sure I could grow my account by commenting "FB" on strangers' posts—but do I want to?
3. vulgar slang An abbreviation for "fuck buddy," meaning someone with whom one has casual sexual interactions without the commitment of a formal relationship.

FB stalk (someone)

To attempt to learn more about a person (typically someone whom one does not know very well) by looking at their Facebook profile, posts, photos, etc. I FB stalked Josh yesterday and saw no signs of a girlfriend, so, you're welcome. Ugh, FB stalking people I went to high school with is just depressing anymore. They all have kids and houses and intense careers, and here I am, living at home. I don't want to FB stalk my date, I want to get to know him organically—and in person!
