1. To persuade someone of one's own view or beliefs. A noun or pronoun can used between "win" and "round." After laying out the facts, I was able to win them round to my way of thinking. You won't win round anyone with such condescending and combative arguments, you know.
2. To earn someone's affection, respect, or support; to win someone over. A noun or pronoun can used between "win" and "round." The politician will need to win round more moderate voters if he hopes to win. I've been trying to win Jessica round for weeks, but she still won't give me the time of day.
