euphemism The time during which a woman menstruates; a woman's period. A pun on the female name "Flo" (a shortening of Florence) and the "flow" of blood from the uterus that occurs during menstruation. I always get horrible cramps whenever I get a visit from Aunt Flo. Do you think you might be pregnant? How long has it been since you've had a visit from Flo? Do you have any tampons? I seem to have gotten a visit from Aunt Flo a bit earlier than expected!
