turn up (one's) nose

To show contemptuous or haughty disdain or distaste (for someone or something). When given a seat beside local fishermen at the event, the duke turned up his nose and walked away. The members of the board may turn up their noses at our plan, but they'll come to realize that it's the only chance we have of keeping the company afloat. She turned up her nose at me when I asked her out.
