To act in a haughty or snobbish manner because one regards oneself as superior (to someone else). The well-dressed businessman looked down his nose at the homeless man sitting on the corner. Jane has been looking down her nose ever since they promoted her to manager.

To regard oneself as superior to someone or something and thus act in a haughty or snobbish manner. The well-dressed businessman looked down his nose at the homeless man sitting on the corner.
