To not be worth anything at all. (The meaning is the same in both positive and negative constructions.) It turns out the online college was a total scam. The degrees they were giving out are worth diddly-squat! Unless you give me something in writing, that promise isn't worth diddly-squat. Your word isn't worth diddly squat now that I know you were lying to me the whole time!

informal, law The acquisition of a legal title to a piece of property by occupying or holding the property for a specific period of time without the legal owner adequately asserting their right to recover it. Technically known as "adverse possession." The couple had lived in the abandoned house for 15 years and were able to claim squatter's rights in court after a property management firm showed up out of nowhere and demanded that they leave.
