Florence Nightingale

Someone, especially a woman, who provides constant, selfless care for others. A reference to the English social reformer of the same name who went on to become the founder of modern nursing. The Prime Minister has even referred to the social worker as the Florence Nightingale of Canada. She has sacrificed so much to look after her ailing child. She's a real Florence Nightingale. A: "Hey, Florence Nightingale, how's your patient?" B: "She definitely needs some help getting around, but she's recovering from the surgery really well."
