light on (one's) feet
light on (one's) feet
Particularly graceful or agile; able to maneuver deftly on one's feet. Used especially in reference to dancers and athletes. I didn't expect such a bulky football player to be so light on his feet! You've got to stay light on your feet if you want your waltz to be really elegant.
