A polite expression of gratitude said to someone after leaving a social event to which they had invited the speaker. ("Us" can be used instead of "me" if speaking on behalf of two or more people.) A: "I'm so glad you were able to make it to the party, John!" B: "Me too, I had a wonderful time. Thank you for inviting me!" That was such a fun double date. Thank you guys for inviting us!
