in motion
1. Literally, moving. Now that my kid's a toddler and is constantly in motion, I long for the baby days! Please do not stand while the train is in motion. I hate traveling by boat—my stomach really does not enjoy being in motion 24 hours a day.
2. By extension, underway, unfolding, or progressing. The senator from New Hampshire put the legislation in motion. A: "Jeff, what's the status of our new deployment strategy?" B: "Things are in motion, we're just waiting for some final tests from the development team." We've been planning the details for months, but it's ultimately up to the boss to set the project in motion.
