goon squad
A group of people hired or acting for the purposes of enforcement, protection, intimidation, and/or harassment on behalf of someone else. Primarily heard in US. After Mr. Smith refused to pay the mafia protection money, they sent a goon squad around to rough him up. A goon squad smashed up my restaurant when I couldn't pay the money I owed. I'm worried that if I don't put a security detail on our witness, a goon squad will try to take her out before she can testify.
gooned
slang Drunk. Do you remember last night at the bar at all? You were totally gooned! Well, I must have been gooned if I got up and did karaoke at the bar! Help him get home, will ya? He started drinking whiskey, and now he's gooned.
goon-platoon
slang A military platoon that is known for its misdeeds or mistakes. Please tell me I'm not going to be in charge of that goon-platoon. If you don't get your men in line, they'll be known around the base as the goon-platoon! But, sir, we can't entrust a delicate operation like this to that goon-platoon!
