To do something or act in a manner that will very likely result in trouble, difficulty, or danger. Those kids went looking for trouble when they trespassed on my property, and now, trouble is what they're going to get! I know you're annoyed at your boss for making you come in on the weekend, but don't go looking for trouble! I'm not surprised Charlie got punched in the face. If you drink too much and go looking for trouble, you'll always find it.
