To become cranky, unhappy, or surly. The boss really got in a bad mood in that meeting, so I'd steer clear of him if you don't want to get screamed at. A: "Betty is always so pleasant." B: "I know, it's like she never gets in a bad mood." Yes, it's annoying that our flight's been delayed, but please don't get in a bad mood—we're going on our honeymoon!
