1. Awry or into a state of chaos. I did have grand plans for the night, but they all went flooey when I got a flat tire on my drive into the city. We were thinking of going to the beach, but that went flooey when it started pouring rain. My hopes for my invention went flooey when I failed to woo any big investors.
2. Drunk. He was flooey last night, so I doubt that he remembers anything that happened at the bar. Well, I must have been flooey if I got up and did karaoke at the bar last night! Help him get home, will ya? He started drinking whiskey, and now he's flooey.

slang To go completely awry; to totally fail. Plans for the gala went blooey after our chief donor backed out and took his millions with him. We really needed to regroup after our meeting with the CEO went blooey. Our project officially went blooey as soon as budgets were slashed across the company.
