1. To be romantically interested in (someone). Primarily heard in UK. A: "I must confess, I really fancy you, Charlotte. I have since the day we met." B: "Oh, Ian. Kiss me!" I can tell April seriously fancies her new boyfriend—she won't stop talking about him. A: "I think Claire fancies you." B: "Really? Should I ask her out?"
2. To have a desire for (something). A: "Fancy some coffee?" B: "Yes, please. Anything that will wake me up this morning." A: "You've never been to the opera?" B: "Honestly, I have never fancied a night at the opera." Well, she's young, of course she fancies living in the city where all the action is.
