fall on good ground

To be received with proper care and attention. The phrase appears in the Biblical "Parable of the Sower," in which the "seed sown on good ground" refers to words heard by people who understand them. The kids look bored to death, so I highly doubt that the seeds of today's lesson are falling on good ground. Tragedy could have been prevented if the warnings had fallen on good ground, but no—no one took the scientists seriously. An idea that falls on good ground will likely be realized one day.
