1. When the sun is shining, it is a good time to cook food that goes in buns, such as hotdogs and hamburgers. A: "It's such a beautiful evening. You want to fire up the barbecue?" B: "Heck yeah—sun's out, buns out!"
2. Said when one exposes one's buttocks in revealing clothing or swimwear because it is hot and sunny. A: "That's quite a skimpy bikini, don't you think?" B: "Hey, sun's out, buns out!"

To work really hard (on or at something). ("Buns" is a slang term for the buttocks.) I know you thought it was just a silly New Year's resolution, but I've been working my buns off at the gym!
