fall toward (something)

To bend, tilt, or drop toward someone or something. The toddler fell toward the chair but luckily didn't hit her head. The only reason the Christmas tree is still standing is because it fell toward the wall instead of directly to the ground. What are you doing? At a minimum, we want the seed to fall toward the existing grass!

to drop or fall in the direction of something. She fell toward the curb rather than toward the traffic. The tree fell toward the garage rather than toward the house.
