slang To strike one very forcefully, especially in the face. He made some rude comment about my mother, so I turned around and clocked him square in the jaw. I managed to shove Josh out of the bar before that other drunk patron had a chance to clock him. Stop swinging that tree branch around. You're going to clock someone with it if you're not careful!
