To talk vigorously, enthusiastically, and profusely. I didn't get a chance to ask her about that because she was talking up a storm the whole night. A: "How did you and John get along?" B: "You were right, we have so much in common! We talked up a storm the whole time we were together."

(informal, especially American English) dance, talk, etc. with enthusiasm and energy: They spent the evening celebrating the end of the exams, dancing up a storm at the college party.Campbell won an award for his first novel, and has been writing up a storm ever since.
