Following a certain period of time, usually one that is relatively short. It's a little bit strange driving on the opposite side of the road in Ireland, but you'll get used to it in a while. Everyone complains about Daylight Saving Time, and then, in a while, it's just forgotten. Everyone's gotten used to it. After taking these antibiotics, you'll feel better in a while.

Also, after a while. After a period of time, usually a moderately short time. For example, Go ahead, I'll be along in a while, or After a while we turned off the television and went for a walk. [c. 1300]
