after a while

Following a certain period of time, usually one that is relatively short. It's a little bit strange driving on the opposite side of the road in Ireland, but you get used to it after a while. The date went well at first, but I could tell after a while that we didn't have much chemistry. Making the schedule for the whole department was overwhelming at first, but I got used to it after a while.
