hoity-toity

Pretentiously arrogant, haughty, or self-important. We don't need some hoity-toity academic coming in and telling us how to run our business! His family's friends all come from money and high society, and they're are all so unbearably hoity-toity as a result. I hate having to socialize with hoity-toity rich people at these stupid galas.
