To be stuck or trapped in a continuous and repetitive cycle, such as a particular task, job, way of life, etc. I know you all feel like you're on a hamster wheel at the moment, but I promise that things are going to start getting shaken up soon. I've just been on a hamster wheel for the last six years. Get up, go to work, stare at my computer, go home, go to sleep, repeat. A: "Do you feel like you're on a hamster wheel too?" B: "Yes! It's just the same mind-numbing data-entry work day in, day out!"

A continuous and repetitive cycle, such as a particular task, job, way of life, etc., in which one is trapped. Alludes to the exercise wheel that hamsters commonly have in their cages.
