go big or go home

expression Either do something to its fullest extent or largest degree, or else don't even bother. Often used facetiously. A: "Do we really need to cook an entire pig for this barbecue? We're only having a few people over." B: "Hey, go big or go home!" In this industry, it's go big or go home. There's no room for those who want to play it safe. My dad would tell us to either give things our best effort or not do them at all. Go big or go home, I guess.
