get into the habit of (doing something)

To begin to do something regularly; to make some practice or behavior a habit. If you get into the habit of dropping 10, 20, 30 dollars into a savings account whenever you can, you'll be surprised by how much you're able to save in short time! It took me a while to get into the habit of washing my face every morning and night, but doing so has really helped clear up my acne. Every summer, the kids get into the habit of sleeping in till noon every day.
