To be lauded or awarded for doing something. Stickers of gold stars are commonly awarded to children for merit. The company is getting a gold star from Wall Street investors following its recent financial restructuring. I got a gold star from my doctor after my most recent physical exam. Seems like I'm doing a good job keeping my body healthy! Patrick definitely gets a gold star for all the donations he brought in this quarter.
