baby gangsta

slang A gangster who is deemed by others to be insignificant or illegitimate. Ignore him, he's just a baby gangsta, new on the scene. Dude, you're still just a baby gangsta. You're a loser to hot chicks like them. Don't waste your time on baby gangstas like him.

gangsta

slang A variant spelling of the word "gangster" originating in African-American vernacular, though the term is often used by people of other ethnicities, sometimes as a kind of parody of hip-hop language or culture that can be considered offensive.
1. noun Someone who is an active member of a criminal gang or engages in a lifestyle characterized by criminal activities; a gangster. Mom's worried you're gonna become a gangsta and end up dead. Would you get out of here? If you're around when the drug deal goes down, they're gonna think you're a gangsta too. No, the rumors you heard are true. I was a gangsta—until I got shot and spent three weeks in a coma.
2. noun By extension, one who is tough or aggressive or exhibits such a persona. That guy's a real gangsta—I'm a little intimidated by him, honestly. You don't have to be a gangsta all the time, you know. You can show some vulnerability. Dad, I had no idea you were such a gangsta back in the day! You even had a motorcycle?
3. adjective Tough and aggressive and exhibiting bold action. The term usually implies approval of such action. A: "I can't believe I just demanded all that money from him!" B: "I know, that was so gangsta, dude!" That guy's so gangsta—I'm a little intimidated by him, honestly. That intern just requested two weeks off on her first day? OK, she's way more gangsta than I thought!
4. adjective Describing a style of rap music characterized by lyrics and themes concerning the struggle of urban life, gang membership, violence, and sexual exploits. Ice-T is considered a forefather of gangsta rap. My mom loves gangsta rap, and, when we were kids, she would hide her copy of Straight Outta Compton from us! Dang, how many guys died in the '90s as a result of East Coast-West Coast gangsta rap beefs?
