To behave in an impolite or unrestrained manner. Sure, sometimes I forget myself and snap at the kids, but doesn't every mother? I'm sorry, I forgot myself for a minute there—let me introduce the two of you. A: "I understand you forgot yourself, but do you really think that screaming at the waitress helped anything?" B: "I know, she's definitely going to spit in my food now."

Said sarcastically to emphasize that one did not find a particular joke funny at all. A: "Why was six afraid of seven? Because seven ate nine! Haha, get it?" B: "Wow, Dad. That's so funny I forgot to laugh."
