To feel a distressing emotion, such as guilt, sorrow, or embarrassment. I feel really bad about not being able to come to your birthday party. Look, I feel really bad about that. I should have never said something so mean, and I'm sorry. I don't think he felt bad at all about ditching me last night! What a jerk!
