far left

1. noun Those with extreme or radical liberal beliefs, considered as a whole. A total or partial deconstruction of capitalism is typically an underlying principle of the far left. Geez, you act like I'm on the far left just because I voted for a Democrat. I have voted for Republicans in the past, you know. Hey, there are plenty of shadings to liberalism. Being a registered Democrat does not automatically mean you're on the far left.
2. adjective Having extreme or radical liberal beliefs. Far-left politicians are demanding extreme tax hikes on the wealthy to pay for free universal healthcare and education. Geez, you act like I'm some far-left voter just because I voted for a Democrat in this particular instance. I have voted for Republicans in the past, you know. In this town of moderates and independents, that candidate won't get far peddling a far-left agenda.
