eureka moment
A moment or instance at which a sudden, revelatory idea, realization, or solution to a problem comes to mind. "Eureka" is derived from the Greek term heureka, meaning "I have found it." We'd been working on the problem in the lab for weeks, but the eureka moment came to me when I was out gardening! Wait, I think I just had a eureka moment—what if we used liquid metal to cool the processor? Couldn't that prevent overheating? Dad's all excited, saying he just had a eureka moment about the business.
Eureka!
cliché An exclamation used when a sudden, revelatory idea, realization, or solution to a problem comes to mind. Derived from the Greek term heureka, meaning "I have found it." Wait, if we use liquid metal to cool the processor, it could prevent overheating. Eureka! A: "Why don't we just sell the product directly to consumers? We'd probably double our profits." B: "Eureka! You're a genius!" I heard Mom shout "Eureka" while she was out gardening, so I guess she's got an idea for the problem they've been working on in the lab.
