done and dusted

Successfully finished. Primarily heard in UK. I'm exhausted, but at least that workout is done and dusted. A: "Whew, that paper is done and dusted!" B: "That's good, considering class starts in three minutes!" I hate getting my car washed, so I'm glad that's done and dusted now—I can finally cross it off my to-do list.

mainly BRITISH
If something is done and dusted, it is finished or decided and there is nothing more to be said or done about it. `The deal is done and dusted,' Dorahy told The Sunday Mail. It's all done and dusted. There is nothing that remains to be said about what has happened.

(informal) if a project, an activity, etc. is done and dusted, it is completely finished or ready: Everybody else seems to think the deal will be done and dusted by lunchtime, but I’m not so sure.
