be done and dusted

To be successfully finished. Primarily heard in UK. I'm exhausted, but at least that workout is done and dusted. A: "Whew, that paper is done and dusted!" B: "That's good, considering class starts in three minutes!" I hate getting my car washed, so I'm glad that's done and dusted now—I can finally cross it off my to-do list.
