babe magnet

1. A person, typically male, who is very attractive to women. Often used with a degree of humor or facetiousness. Primarily heard in US. John thinks he's such a babe magnet now that he's making so much money, but everyone thinks he's just as foolish as ever. It's not like I was a babe magnet before, but these braces definitely aren't helping my cause. Please, I was a total dork in high school. I rarely went to parties and was the furthest thing from a babe magnet!
2. Something that attracts women to its owner, who is typically male. Often used with a degree of humor or facetiousness. Primarily heard in US. I bought my motorcycle because I thought it would be a great babe magnet. You want your house to be a babe magnet? Put in a big walk-in closet. Yeah, why do dudes always assume that cars are babe magnets? My girlfriends and I really couldn't care less about that stuff.

chick

slang A young, sexually attractive woman. Sometimes considered offensive or derogatory. Now that Tom's single, all he wants to do is go out to the bars and find chicks. I bought my motorcycle because I thought it would score me some hot chicks. Right, like those hot chicks would actually talk to dorks like us. Get real!

chick flick

A movie that is primarily appealing or marketed to a female audience, and often focused on relationships and romance. That new romantic comedy seems like a real chick flick, so my girlfriends and I are going to go see it this weekend. A: "Jake, we know you like chick flicks, don't lie." B: "Hey, The Notebook is just a good movie!" Why are you surprised? Sarah's always liked action movies more than chick flicks.

chick magnet

We barely have time to date! Oh yeah, I was a real chick magnet in high school, what with my braces and role in the marching band.

fussy as a hen with one chick

Extremely anxious and overprotective. A: "I can't believe your curfew is only nine o'clock." B: "Yeah, my mom can be fussy as a hen with one chick sometimes." Of course you'll always worry about your kids, but you have to let them live life. You can't be fussy as a hen with one chick. As a mom, I try not to be fussy as a hen with one chick, but it's so hard when you know all the awful things that are out there in the world.

gone chick

obsolete slang Someone who is in a position of certain death, failure, or ruin. We'll have to leave him here—he's a gone chick with a wound like that. It was a horrific crash, and the woman and her child would have been gone chicks if not for some off-duty EMTs who happened to be passing by. If you start drowning in open water, you're a gone chick, man.

To be without children. The fact the I have neither chick nor child means I am able to travel wherever I want, whenever I want. It took me a while to come to terms with having neither chick nor child at my age, but I'm at peace with it now. We had finally accepted that we would have neither chick nor child, when, against all odds, Linda got pregnant!

slick chick

slang A particularly shrewd, confident, and capable woman. "Chick" is often considered somewhat condescending or derogatory. I've heard she's a real slick chick, so I have no doubt that the company is in good hands. I thought I had made a good argument, but that slick chick kept twisting my words around to suit her own narrative.
