bring (one) up on (something)

To allow one to experience or have something repeatedly in childhood. Because my parents worked so much, my siblings and I were brought up on TV and junk food. I was brought up on home cooking, so having to eat cafeteria food at college was a bit of a shock. I was a kid when 9/11 happened, so I don't remember a time when you could just breeze through the airport. I was brought up on strict security measures.

bring someone up on something

to provide something while raising a child to adulthood. She brought her children up on fast food. You shouldn't bring up your children on that kind of entertainment!
