To thoroughly impress, overwhelm, or excite one. The show of support from everyone just blew my socks off. That movie really blew my socks off—I didn't expect it to be so good! It's not like I expected that play to blow my socks off or anything, but I also didn't think it would be so dull that I could barely stay awake!
