Once things have calmed down or returned to a state of normality following a period of intense controversy, turmoil, unrest, etc. Everyone is up in arms because of the scandal, calling for resignations from all the top officials. After the smoke has cleared, though, I doubt anyone will even remember. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami wreaked havoc on the city. It will only be after the smoke has cleared that we understand the scope of that destruction. The city has been torn apart by protests this year. Will its inhabitants be able to find any common ground after the smoke has cleared?
